Slice of life
Slice of Life masters the art of the accidental speakeasy, enticing guests through a psychedelic, mirrored hallway lined with pulsating LED strips that acts as a portal away from the bustle of College Street. Inside, the design creates a deliberate sense of disorientation and intimacy; the space is kept aggressively dim, blurring the lines between patrons to offer a rare, collective anonymity. The room is anchored by a glowing, ruby-red bar that serves as the visual hearth, offsetting the shadowy booths where tables are arranged close enough to feel communal yet shrouded enough to remain private.
The aesthetic mirrors the venue’s dual identity as both a vibey cocktail den and a serious "liquid laboratory." While the advanced culinary equipment—centrifuges and rotovaps—is tucked away in the basement, the main floor exudes a moody, kooky confidence that hints at the experimentation below. The interplay of dark, tinted windows and reflective surfaces amplifies the low-light energy, creating a sensory-driven environment where the decor takes a backseat to the atmosphere, allowing the vibrant, complex cocktails to act as the primary pops of color in the room.
